UNLEASH

Dream is not just a picture in your sleep
Or a fragment of illusion
But a bridge between vision and reality-
A prison too complicated to tell
keeping you hungry
And drying it’s thirst with your imagination.

Sometimes, you are lost in your own shoes
Thinking of what to do
In the midst of fight and fright.

Some people choose an audition;
As passport to stardom
Spending sleepless night rehearsing,
Kneeling to pray behind toilet doors,
Wearing worn out smiles;
To impress Judges -
Who has no idea of the content in your container.

Before you unleash potentials,
Understand the game -
Flattery can pull you flat.
Polish your weakness
Behind public eyes;
Don’t be a jack of all trades
But a master of one;
Beware of industry vipers
In chameleon coat -
Else, you will be like a sheep
Without shepherd.

Don’t feel too comfortable in silence
Counting losses;
Greatness is a path too lonely for babies.
‘Martin Luther had a dream his reality never embraced’,
You say to yourself -
Cuddling failure like a dog on your shoulder.
Before you UNLEASH,
Ask yourself a question-
ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

WHAT DO NIGERIANS WANT by Glory D Poet

Too many board meetings
conferences, panels, inaugurations of committees
Grabby sitting on high chairs
feigning patriotism whereas greed motives
is it the air condition that makes you forget the tears of the masses.

we don't forbid going to our houses with our eyes closed
our children going to school without  the fear of abduction
what of the graves you call hospital, ward
where facial expression of staff makes drugs taste like poison
plagued with either short of staff, equipment or medication.

we want to drive on our roads with smiles on our faces
not dungeons of death traps
toll built with tax payers money
yet we pay irrespective of the queue
i need to smoothly iron my dress
he needs something chilled
Nigerians need basic amenities
but if you ask me Nigerians don't want BARTER IN DISGUISE.

Poet's Mind: Race to Where (A must read)

What is the problem with fate and face
Race and chase
Does it mean gold don’t mean goat
Clothes no longer cover cold
Too many questions walking through my mind.

Big Timi my friend in the journey
Wrote about lost treasures in the grave
But we all want to wear the glory of success
Rush to every seminars to sit in front
Fast for ninety days
Sit on broken wood to give lectures
Is that not enough.

Is that not enough that we strive to survive
Work from dusk to dawn
Dance under the sun to sell product
Is that not enough?
It hurt that the grave have many
Great minds underneath.

Many ideas we have but how can they become reality
When some things in life is strictly by invitation
Image a pilot based village
Is not that we don’t try to succeed
But positioning sometimes kills position
Insecurity, trust  , love or relationship isn’t our problem
Our problem is dreams that sleeps away as night mare.
